EXPLORATIONS IN FORAGED & KUDZU BASKETRY

June 29, 2024 @ 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm

$85.00
Women creating woven baskets from natural twigs outdoors, surrounded by lush green trees and plants, participating in a community gardening or craft workshop at Knox County Community Garden.

Make art in collaboration with the living world! In this class we will be building off of the traditional form of ribbed basketry as a jumping-off point for a wild material exploration in basketry. Students will learn how to harvest living materials for baskets, develop a working knowledge of ribbed basket forms, and practice making art in dialogue with the landscape.

Open to all skill levels. Moderate hand dexterity is needed for weaving and students should come dressed for an outdoor class.

All supplies are included.

Ages 16 and up are welcome. Participants under 18 years old must have an accompanying adult.
