Olive Tree Early Learning Academy was the first preschool the YGEP connected with, by request of Mandy Watson, Director of Family & Community Engagement. The YGEP has since led monthly outdoor educational enrichment opportunities for preschoolers aged 18 months through 4 years. In the Spring of 2025, the YGEP transitioned their classroom-dedicated raised beds to a more robust “Rainbow Garden”: six beds with both native plants and vegetable crops, with each bed focused on a specific color of the rainbow. Students love planting seeds and plants in their beds, learning about the garden ecosystem, and harvesting and trying new vegetables from their garden.
