The Alliance was thrilled to represent Miller Heritage Community Garden at the Western Heights Fall Bazaar on October 8, 2026! Hosted at the Western Heights Baptist Center, the event featured family-friendly activities, including a bounce house, trunk-or-treat, and pumpkin and costume giveaways.
Visitors of all ages stopped by our table to enjoy apple cider, sweet tea, freshly sliced watermelon straight from the garden, and yard games. We also hid three ripe watermelons throughout the garden for a fun watermelon hunt, allowing lucky kids to take their finds home.
We were excited to share our harvest with the community, sending watermelons home with 10 families!”
Our watermelon harvest has been a tremendous success, with more than 1,500 pounds grown so far this season! We are grateful to Transforming Western for inviting us to participate and for the incredible work they do in the community. We look forward to strengthening this partnership as we wrap up our first growing season at Miller Heritage Community Garden!
