MEDLIFE Volunteer Day in the Gardens

MEDLIFE Volunteer Day in the Gardens

Another successful MEDLIFE Volunteer Day in the Gardens

Once again, MEDLIFE  provided the  Alliance with a volunteer day at Brown Community Garden! Because of the garden’s large growing area, there is a continual need for volunteer workers to suppress the weeds around the garden beds. One of the ways this is done is by laying down cardboard and covering it with a thick layer of mulch. It is a time-consuming job, but having the extra hands of the MEDLIFE volunteers makes a huge difference!

MEDLIFE is a student organization at the University of Tennessee that supports low-income communities both locally and globally. The organization participates in international service-learning trips to assist mobile medical clinics while also partnering with local organizations on volunteer initiatives throughout Knoxville.

The Alliance is so grateful to have MEDLIFE back in the garden and appreciates all of their hard work!
