Gap Creek Elementary
Garden Liaison: Jennikae Reid
Spaces Supported: Vegetable Garden
Ms. Jennikae Reid leads the Gap Creek Elementary Garden Club, a small but mighty club that has a unique dedication to their garden – they meet once a week in the mornings as soon as students get off the bus! With a myriad of spaces on campus, both for vegetable growing and for ornamental flowers, students are exposed to lots of different growing styles. Additionally, the majority of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are also involved in Knox County Extension’s 4H program. The YGEP is proud to support their efforts with consultative and project support.
