The Knox County Community Gardens and Growers Alliance partnered with Chris Battle of Battlefield Farms for a garden workday at the Pastor Richard S. Brown Jr. Community Garden. Students from the University of Tennessee Jones Center, UT Plant Sciences and Garden Club along with community members, local gardeners and Alliance members joined.
On the same day, Knox County Master Gardeners and UT Extension taught a garden class on garden design, sowing seeds, pest management, pruning and cold season crop planning.
Members also contributed to a tool drive wishlist which will assist in sustaining their community garden and food systems operations.
