Alexis Wilhoite

Alexis Wilhoite

Alexis grew up in Knoxville and attended the University of Tennessee where she studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. This is where she discovered her passion for the appreciation, exploration, and protection of nature. She followed this passion and began working as a community educator to help bridge the gap between individuals and the natural world.

After 2 years of working in community development and sharing her joy for nature, Alexis began working with the Knoxville Community Gardens and Growers Alliance to continue building a sustainable, resilient, and thriving community through education and collaboration.

In her free time, Alexis enjoys reading books and identifying plants and fungi on hikes with her dog Dakota. Her ultimate goal is to empower individuals at all ages to find wonder, peace, and stewardship for and through nature.
