Growing up in South Knoxville, Évora has always loved spending time outside and learning about nature. Since childhood, she has loved sharing what she knows about growing and foraging food to anyone that will listen. Now, she takes great joy in sharing her love of growing food with youth in the community.
In 2020, Évora graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors in Sociology and Spanish. In 2022, she began as an outdoor educator at the Boys and Girls Club of Vestal, developing the Outdoor Learning program there. At Vestal, she was able to share the impactful experiences she had with gardening with the youth of the community she grew up in. She found her passion teaching kids about how to feed themselves by growing and cooking their own food as well as safely foraging wild edible plants. Cultivating resilience and independence in the next generation through growing food motivates Évora to do the work that she loves.
